Partitioning a laptop hard drive

Question Partitioning a laptop hard drive
Hi there,

I have a laptop and the hard drive just gave up so i have replaced it, formatted NTFS and i was to reinstall Win7 on it now but i am thinking i'd like to have WinXP on it as well now so i was going to partition the drive and put both on, its 320gig so there no worries doing it.

I have Hirens Boot CD 10.4 so i was going to do it with that. Is there anything i should look at doing to make sure this all goes ok.

Easiest would be to get the version of windows 7 that supports XP mode and removes the hassles of needing to dual-boot. Also the XP you get is licensed properly, otherwise you may need an additional xp license.

Send a message via Skype to private_html
install windows 7, on boot up it asks what drive to install it to, format your drive, partion it into two, install 7 on one, then reboot with windows xp, install on the partion you didnt use, or install one or the other, then install virtualbox, and install the second via that perhaps?
