Question PHP on IIS 5 Win2K Server

I have just installed the latest PHP release on IIS 5.0 using the Install Shield installer. On a system without frontpage extensions everything works fine. However on the main webserver, php code is being understood but fails when variables are passed. I get a 404 error any php file that has a variable attached at the end.

I.E. http://webserver/login.php?opin=true

Has anyone else experienced this and if so how do I fix this problem?

Thanks

In the C:\WinNT\php.ini file, change

Register_global from OFF to ON

I figured out the problem to be an IISLockdown security issue. I had the webserver locked down when I ran the php installation which was not recognized by security settings. To fix this, I ran the tool to restore the settings then installed PHP and ran the tool again and it worked. Crazy M$ stuff.

Unhappy Installer does nothing

I just got my win2000 server running with IIS5 and downloaded the installer but when I double-click on the php.exe file (I'm assuming that's the one as it is the only exe in the directory) a dos window opens and does nothing else happens.

How did you get the installer to start?

Thanks for any help,
Catharina
