The problem with the computer slowing up in one username could be that a lot of software starts up when you login. Go to run and type msconfig. You will see a list of items that start when you login, and you can disable them until it works better. If you can't get in at all, try running "safe mode"- reboot and press F8, choose safe mode. This runs minimal services, and usually works when there's problems. Then you can run msconfig as noted above and experiment until you find the culprit. As far as accessing that user's files from another user's account, this is a stupid annoying feature of XP when using NTFS- user account "protection." In other words, you can only access that user's **** from their own account. Depending upon how it's all configured, you probably can access different folders from every user account (I've seen prohibited access of the root of the drive, limited accounts "protected", etc.) What I've learned from my experiences is use one account if you're a single user, and make it an admin account. It's a pain in the *** otherwise, as you may have to switch accounts just to do everyday tasks (Thanks, Microsoft). Well, good luck. And by the way, with XP they only allow you 8 reinstallations of the OS, and then its worthless. More info about Microsoft and product activation...
