regedit messed up, keyboard and mouse don't work

Hey guys,
I had a problem running easy cd creator , from roxio when i updated to windows xp, and the fix it gave me to do, was to go into regedit and delete a few lines... now when i start windows the mouse and keyboard do not work... the keyboard works before windows begins, because i can press f8 and f2 to get to the bios or safe mode windows, but even in safe mode my keyboard and mouse do not work... any advice? i think i need to get to regedit and fix it somehow before xp begins... ???? please help...

I know its too late now but always export a copy of your reg before changes.this way u can always merge the old reg to new.doin this has saved me many problems such as this.sorry i dont have an answer but im sure one of the gurus here will....good luck

drop in the xp cd, reboot, making sure the cdrom is the first boot device in the bios, boot from the cd, reinsatll, not repair xp, do not format, it will replace the operating system , this should fix you up, as long as you dont format, you wont loose your files, music , pictures,....will just have to reapply sp1 and other windows updates, if you must use easy cd creator, either get the new version, or get nero, the old version has patches at the roxio site, but you will have to disable the onboard xp cd software to use it without as many problems.
