Restricting access to certain users.
I setup a computer in my moms dental office with software and all..
I need to figure out how to restrict access to certain options. Its Windows XP Pro I have the following Accounts Administrator Ritesh (thats my account) Office - Account for moms assistant to Use Ritesh is an Administrator. Office is Limited. I tried going to GPEDIT.MSC and disabling options, but it disabled it for the administrator as well. That was not part of the plan. im lucky i was able to get back into GPEDIT! i forgot to disable the command prompt! Basically i want the start menu to pop up with only the following Shut Down Microsoft Office > Word, Excel Microsoft Outlook EasyDental I want to place these links on the desktop as well along with IE and thats it. I want to disable ALL options in IE! NO Locationbar just back forward refresh! how can i create a filter to allow only certain sites. As for other accounts i want things to remain as normal. I need these changes just on office. But the Office Account has to be able to create a backup of the data onto a cd. what am i doing wrong in GPEdit? |

Heh looks like youa re afraid of the office assistant looking at porn!
most of your questions lie in registry hacks. I have a list on paper that I keep in my Bag when I do service calls. Here are a few god tutes on killing some of those options... http://www.winguides.com/registry/ http://members.aol.com/axcel216/reg.htm http://www.computerperformance.co.uk/registry_hacks.htm Cheers! |
