Restricting access to partitions
YEAHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just got a new computer today!!!
But I have 8 partitions for different things on it. And I set up our 'My Documents' file on each. But even though they are supposed to be restricted to other users, the can still go play my stuff. What can I do to fix it? (Passwords would be good) Oh, I got "Windows XP Professional" if that helps. |

Right click on the files/folders/drives and go to properties, and look at the security tab in there. You should be able to restrict access by logged in users. Be sure to propogate any changes down the tree (is an option) but be sure you know what everything on the drive is before that point. I screwed my program files partition by accidentally doing that and had to come back from image.

Bah I fixed a couple hours before your post. I changed our "My Documents" folders to be like this: Partition\My Documents
for each one of us on a different parition. Then I went in sharing and made it private. It's almost like 'locking' the partition. |
