Run IIS in home network
I have two pcs in my home network. One of them has the internet connection, while the other access the internet through the first one. I want to run IIS on the pc that does not have direct internet connection. I tried going to the properties of local area network and enabled the web server entry, which has internal and external port of 80. I have written in the IP address edit the box 192.168.0.2, which the the IP of the pc on which I want to run the IIS.
Now when i go to URL, URL Address assigned by my ISP/default.html , it cannot find the page. URL URL works fine. Please suggest me a way out. Thanks. |

Only the PC with the direct connection have the IP from your ISP. When you run the second PC through the first one and out, the first one is acting pretty much like a router, and translating the official ISP IP into an unofficial (192.x.x.x) IP. As long as you are on the internal net, just use the unofficial IP. If you want to reach the IIS from the internet, you have to set up some kind of router software on your direct connect PC. Can't give you a hint on what to use though, I'm afraid
