Running windows from external wireless hard drive

Hello I would like to know if it is possible to install windows on an external, wireless, hard disk?

So that when I start the computer up I will have the option of running the operating system from the wireless hard disk or from the local hard disk in the computer.

Thank you.

I don't know for sure, but my guess is no you can't, unless your external drive is detected by your hardware bios and available to boot like any other external drive.

Also I don't know if Windows has a live version that lets you boot from an external drive.

I'm afraid not. Such a task requires your PC to find the wireless drive at boot and unfortunately, you need to be booted into Windows to locate the wireless devices. Is an interesting idea though

I'm not sure why you would want to do this in the first place, as it would likely make the whole system run slower.

Windows 7 don't have a portable version so you can't boot from from external source. And if it will be possible it's still too much slow than normal hard drive. I don't know someone who want slower system.
