Setup 2 NIC to improve bandwith on a server

I was wondering if anyone knows how to setup 2 Network cards on a server to improve bandwith performance.

If you are at 100bT right now, I think you would be better off upgrading the one existing card to gigabit rather than cramming in 2 cards. Just my opinion.

Are you auto-negotiating or have you set the duplex manually? Have you run a network sniffer to see where bottlenecks are occurring? Have you identified what the bottlelnecks are?
