Question Shared File Conflict

I uninstalled a shareware program and installed a registered
version. Now I am getting messages that there is a conflict with a shared file.

How do I find a shared file and remove it? What about embedded files?
I have WIndows XP.

Thanks,

UA

not sure if this is what anyone else would do, but in this situation, i would uninstall the full version, go to C:\Program Files\ then find the folder for the program, they usually leave one, may have two since there was a trial version, remove any that apply, then go to start, run type regedit, expand the software directory, find the folder(S) of the program, delete all then reboot , reinstall, should be good to go. could also go to start then search, search for the name of the program to see if any other files exist for it, might not want to delete some of what you find there or in the reg, use good judgment, when in doubt, dont take it out.
