Smb shares fro mwin9x to 2k

when trying to access the smb shares from my 98 laptop to me 2000 adv server it always asks me for the password for the IPC$ share. tried the admin password and everyother user in the admin group to no avail. how do i access 2k from a 98 machine?

Enable the guest account in 2k.
