Software Firewall recommendation

I have just set up a modest windows XP network with ICS. I was wondering if anyone could recommend a software firewall that would be useful for this type of network?

I have looked into zonealarm, but this is for a cable or DSL connected network. My one uses ISDN, so I don't think it would be compatible.

Any suggestions greatfully received!
Jules

Zonealarm shouldn't care about your physical Internet connection afaik. I recently was on the road using 800# dialup Internet and ZoneAlarm did it's thing just fine.

XP has a built-in firewall but it doesn't give you outbound notifications, I prefer zonealarm on workstations.

kerio works fine on my network, it's really easy to configure everything and does not eat up your system resources.

Cool

Hey Jules,

If you have, or can get an old machine, why dont you try and setup smoothwall? It is way kewl, and very easy to setup. The only downfall is that you need a dedicated machine for it.

Please check out URL

Hope this helps.

Zone Alarm doesn't care about whether you connected perminently or temporary, it worked well on my pc when i was at my Uni house ICS a cable connection and then fine when i moved back home to my ISDN connection.

zonealarm is great. it notifies you when an application is trying to access the internet and gives you a chance to either allow it or disallow it.
