    System time synchonisation


    hi guys,

    we are having a workgroup of 25 windows system most of them are xp and 7. we wish to synchronise the date time of all machine.we dont have any windows server and dont wanna use any internet time..so please suggest some ulternative...

    And where are the machines supposed to get the time from? There has to be an NTP server running somewhere, be that on a Windows machine or a tiny Linux box.

    And when you get that server set up, where is it supposed to get the time from. Is someone going to monitor it? You've already said that you don't want to get the time from the big, bad Internet so that means no official sources like NIST for you.

    yes requinix i want a solution using windows system in my workgroup..we dont have any server operating system all are running on win7 and xp ,,,,so how it could be done??? is there any third party software for these?????

    It can be done from, and I quote, "an NTP server running somewhere, be that on a Windows machine or a tiny Linux box".

    i dont hav any ntp running server all are clent operating system....can it be possible .. ntp on a client?????

    Go into the Date and Time settings and configure the server it pulls time from. Figured you already knew that part.

    i tried using that but it gives me error rpc server unavailable wht that means???

    hi i have created a logon script using a bat file content of that are as below

    net time \\192.168.0.14 /set /yes


    but other than the admin user all are getting system 5 error how to solve this?????
