if you want to add the backup of a linux server to the backup of a win2k server, the soulution i use is:
- make a share on the w2k server that is exclusively exported to the linux server - at a specific time (22:30), the linux server starts its backup (cron, tar), smbmounts this share, copies the file to this share and then unmounts again. everything is timed so more than enough time passes till the windows server starts its daily backup. - then, some time later (00:00) the win2k server backups all hard drives to tape and with them the directory that the tar backup was stored in. anyone a better solution? ![]()
