Two folders constantly flashing on desktop

I'm not sure how this happened but yesterday a folder and icon started flashing quickly between the two. I deleted them but then, somehow, whenever I typed in a webpage a bunch of "h"'s would start adding to the name. Sometimes they stop, sometimes they just keep going. This is one firefox. When I deleted the file and folder the computer got mad and beeped at me a few times and i used restore point because I wasn't sure if it would work or not so i did. The folder and icon were back after the restore so that was sort of helpful. But back to the repeating "h" 's, any idea what to do? And I did check the key, its not stuck.

How about the backspace key? ctrl-H is the code for a backspace and maybe it's showing as an H in the confusion.

Nope, it just uses the 'h'hhhhhhhhhh , yep just like hthhhhathhhhhhhhhhh
hstill doihnhg hit, hi'll swhitchh hcomhpshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh hhhhhhh

Switched to a different computer. One thing I noticed is the original file and shortcut that were flashing both began with "h". On a lighter note, I tried to see if the "h" key was stuck and now I can't get it back on. I'm also wondering if it has something to do with when I unplugged the flashdrive before something was saved or loaded. Maybe I upset it somehow. Last ditch approach will be to reinstall the system, and I do not want to do that.

ok why dont you run a full scan on your flashdrive and HDDs. it could probably a virus or trojan.

by the way are you sure its not your keyboard? do you have another spare keyboard for testing?

Ok, no virus present on the computer with the "h" problem or with the flash drive. Could it be the "sticky keys" option ? And if so, what would I do to fix it ? Just a thought. I, accidently took off the "h" key and can't seem to get it back on, a laptop keyboard is slightly harder to replace keys on then a desktop keyboard. and

*update*

I used a program called MapKeyboard and disabled the "H" key and guess what...it worked! Now the fun part...how to actually fix it so I can use the "H" key, as it is I've just found a sort of work-around.

if you took the H key off, you could have gotten something down in there and it might be shorting it out or pressing it when you don't plan. of course, maybe you didn't, too. Just a thought.
