Unable to run localhost
I have installed IIS. When I now try to open any file residing in c:\inetpub\wwwroot with my browser in this way: http://localhost/myFile, I get an error message: page could not be found.
Browser > Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Unchecking 'show friendly http error messages' did NOT help. Any advice on how to get files appearing in browser through localhost would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. |

there could be many reasons.
tell me which server-script you are using, plus iis version. Have you used iis before, or changed any settings since you installed it? |

Thankfully, I have solved the problem.
I have XP Home, and I used this to install IIS: http://www.15seconds.com/issue/020118.htm. He gives all the steps. Once I figured out what he meant in the last step (#9), all was fine. |
