User Profiles -- Mobile User(s)

Okay, first, I despise Notebooks.. always a problem fer me.

Anyway, here's the situation I have a notebook running winXP Pro, and a Win2k Server/Domain Controller.

I need to configure the notebook with a non-roaming profile one that is shared both on the domain and while not connected.

Is there a way around the use of roaming profiles?

If so, can someone point me to the right resource information for this process....
