Vertical lines across screen
I have another issue with this computer. It all started about 2 years ago when I hooked up our ethernet network card. I did that so that my brother and I could play games vs each other in our home. Ever since then I have had these annoying vertical lines all over my computer. They make watching videos and playing games virtually impossible. It completely screws up the picture. We took out our Ethernet card a long time ago and we are no longer connected to the network. Still, the lines remain. How can I fix this problem? thank you.

Hi
Sounds like you could do with updating your graphics card driver. If you have an ATI card then download: URL If its a Nvidia card then download: URL Install the drivers and this will solve your problem. |

And another thing if your card is over two years old it must be on its last legs maybe you should think of upgrading if the driver thing doesn't work....

It started when you put the network card in, but presisted when you removed it? Sounds like something happened to the video card when you were inside. Maybe the mystical static discharge, who know.
These days, you can but a vid card for $50 that outperforms whatever you had two years ago. If new drivers don't help, try a little swaptronics if you have another system available to trade parts with. Else, new card. |
