W2k laptop installation

Hi all!
I'm trying to install Windows 2000 on a laptop, but just after the drivers are loaded a BSOD appears saying "INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE"
Anyone knows how to fix this?

tnx in advance!

what brand, and model # is the laptop, have you added anything to it such as ram, and does it have a floppy drive?

could not find the model listed anywhere on toshiba's site, so have you tried booting the installation from the floppy drive, if you dont have the boot disk set, drop the 2k cd in a computer allready booted up, dont matter which os, explore the cd, go to the folder named bootdisk, have four floppy disk you can use, start the utility, it will make them. boot from them, see if it gets you through.

already done with floppies with no luck....tried also with winXP but the same error appears. I think it's a problem with the atapi driver, but dunno how to fix it!

this must be a older laptop, have you updated the bios, or put them in setup default, unless the model nuber you posted was wrong , i couldnt find that one, but may just need a bios update, see if you can look it up on the toshiba site, they may also have some upgrade information if this is a known issue.
