I am trying to upgrade from w2k to XP Pro, and get the
following message during "Preparing installation." Your computer has a mass storage device that is not supported on Windows XP. Setup was unable to migrate the driver for this device. You will need to provide the Manufacturer-supplied suppoet disk for this device during the next phase of setup. I click OK, it report minor other compatibility issues and then I get the message, Cannot Complete the Windows XP Setup Wizard I have two drives. A new Maxtor Ultra ATA 120 and a Maxtor 40. I have the latest drivers, as far as I know and found no information at Maxtor about this issue. The Wizard suggested that I would need the install disk for the new Maxtor 120, but I never got a chance to use it, or was it requested. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Eric |

as soon as the installation begins at the bottom of the screen it will say press F6 to load the drivers for your controller card. After a minute or so it will tell you it cant find any drivers press S-specify add drivers. then put your disk in and press enter after selecting your driver file.
