Lightbulb Where are the connections kept?

Does anyone happen to know where the dial-up connections in Windows XP are kept?

I know in Windows 98 it was stored in the registry so it was easy to extract a branch etc and import into another system.

I really need to copy all of my Windows XP (20+) connections onto another XP machine.

Any help greatly appreciated.

All the best,

Simon

Hi,

Thanks,

Simon

I just had a look at my own registry, seems like they are spread all over

My advice: Start "regedit" and do a search for the name of one of your network connections. You should find them there, but this is no guarantee that exporting these keys and re-importing them will make them work on another installation...

Hiya,

My first reaction was to do that, but it did not return any matches when searching for any of the connection names.

Thanks,

Simon

If you want to transfer the settings from a XP source machine you can use the Files and Settings Transfer Wizard under XP Pro. To open the Files and Settings Transfer Wizard, click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, point to System Tools, and then click Files and Settings Transfer Wizard.

From there it will ask you some basic questions and you will be able to transfer your dialup networking settings.
