Why does Vista saves a site twice in my favorites

I`m running Vista Home Premium 64bit. I just reformatted and I notice something I never got before.
When I save a site in my favorites, it saves it twice in the folder I choose. One is more an explaination of the site, the other is the working link for the site. So one "link" isnt really a link at all and doesnt get me anywhere if I click it.
Whats happening here? And what do I need to do to stop it from saving a second non-working link?
Kind of a pain in the arse to delete all the non working links in my favorites.

Re:Why does Vista saves a site twice in my favorites?

Uninstall AVG and reboot, and then do a fresh install AVG: This time select the Custom installation option and do not install (ie, clear) LinkScanner, Search-Shield, Active Surf-Shield, identity protection, the toolbar security [none of which are compatible with IE8 my humble opinion], or any component of email scanning. Better yet, uninstall AVG and reboot, then install Microsoft Security Essentials.
And repeatedly manually update AVG (or Microsoft Security Essentials) until you get an "update no more" or similar system.
