wifi router can't ping other boxen
I bought one of those cheap network everywhere wifi routers.
I can't seem to get it configured properly so that I can get in to an ftp server on a wired box from the outside, or a laptop on the wlan. I picked infrastructure mode when installing the pcmcia card on the notebook.
Come to think of it, I can't ping the router or the wired box either, even though I set it up as a dmz host, and set up port forwarding too.
Here's what I've done so far.
Changed the default password
Changed the ssid on router and systems.
Disable ssid broadcast.
Made Wep manditory, and put key in router and notebook.
Disabled dhcp server & hardcoded ips on notebook and workstation.
Haven't set up mac filtering yet
Left all UPnp ports unenabled (I want port 2169 to work)
Went in and forwarded port 2169-2169 to the workstation (tcp and udp).
Set the workstation up as the dmz host.
Any thoughts?
