I am getting very frustrated!!! I have reformatted for the umpteenth time. The last time I was forced to format, my computer crashed after I installed MS Visual Studio under WIN XP, actually it just wouldn't reboot.
Now I have WIN 2000 installed. I am receiving an "INACESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVIVE" error every OTHER time I start my computer. I have a Maxtor 40GIG HD. Is something wrong with them??? What am I doing wrong??? Anyone help? JF |

might be boot.ini
i had the same problem when i put win2k on a hard drive in another machine, then transferred the hard disk - the new machine wouldnt boot and the stop error was "INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE". I had to install the OS on that machine and it worked. I think its boot.ini being "incorrect" or something.
