(Win2K) Get AOL off my system!
OK, my subject line is a bit overboard, but this is really getting to annoy me. Certain links on my Win2K system are marked as Internet Shortcut and when I double click them, up comes an AOL 6 browser window (not NN or IE, near as I can tell), which promptly dies (since I have no account with them, I presume?) without even showing me the intended address.
I'm using IE and NN all the time. How can I (right clicking was not enlightening) change this linkage? Same thing also happens with the buttons on a couple of my apps (like in my free (IrfanView) Image Editor's about box). Thanks, Csaba Gabor |

Go:
Tools > internet options select the Programs tab and tick the box that says: IE should check to see whether it is the default browser. Restart IE and it should ask you if you want to make it the default browser. Say 'yes' and it will reset the file associations. |
