win2K pro and XP dual os problems
Hi, I recently tried to re-install my win2K pro on my computer that was working fine (don't ask me why). Everytime i go through the installation it crashed trying to configure COM+. I had no other choice but to install XP over top of it. Now I got XP running on the computer but none of the software i had installed is registered with XP. Can i register this somehow without re-installing gigs and gigs of programs? Is there something quick?
Or can anyone recommend how to fix the 2000 install so I can use it again? thanks. MCM |

you would have to install all the programs again, it wont make a double file, will just write over/replace the files already there, the only advantage to doing this verses a clean install was to save information stored by the programs used by 2000, i would recomend you copy all your files to a backup of some kind, format and reinstall which ever you like 2k, or xp, then add your programs back, if you try to salvage what you have now you are in for a lot of problems in the future.
