Windows 2000 IIS not displaying
I am running Windows 2000 on a Toshiba Protege 7200 laptop.
After I installed IIS through Add Components, it's showing the Personal Web Server under Administrative Tools in the Control Panel like it should. However when I double click on it, it doesn't show up. The weird thing is that it does appear in the processes under the task bar as pws.exe. I have also installed MySQL Server 2000 and Visual Interdev before that; could that have messed it up somehow? Any ideas would be really helpful, I tried to give as much information as I could. Thanks in advance, and have a good day ![]() |

Try using the IIS Service manager instead of the PWS manager.
Check under control panel - administrative tools - services and verify the WWW service is running. If it is, try opening your web browser to http://127.0.0.1 or http://localhost and see what you get. If you were not logged in as an administrator user when you installed IIS you may need to remove & reinstall IIS. |
