Windows 2k stuck on "Starting Windows" screen
I recently fooled around with the MBR, trying to get rid of Grub. I downloaded many bootdisks and was able to use the program spfdisk to (what I thought) solve my MBR troubles and erase Grub, letting the computer boot straight into Windows 2000.
Problem is, when Windows does start, the black and white bar under "Starting Windows" goes all the way up and then the computer stops. Is there anyway my fooling around with the MBR could have made the computer recognize Windows but not let it start? Thanks in advance. |

mbr
if fix mbr attempts have failed, have you used the cd to repair the os, as long as you dont format, wont loose anything, even if you reinstall 2000, may have to reinstall your service packs. but should not loose your info, just remember, dont format and select the partition the 2k os is already on.
