windows 98 doesn't resume from stand by

Hi All,
I have win98. My computer does not resume after it is gone to "stand by" mode. Also, now i am using the turn off
monitor feature. can it be a cause for hardware problem
if I frequently(say 15 times in a day") do my computer to go to any of these: "stand by", "suspense" or "turn off monitor".
Please help

I have had this problem with older motherboard BIOS's. Review your BIOS settings and windows power settings.
