Windows File Explorer crashes
Hi, I have a question about Windows XP's file explorer. I manage large number of files to be uploaded into a database through windows environment but whenever I open a directory in windows explorer with thousands of file in it my system is painfully brought to its knees. Often I'm forced to end the explorer's process because it stopped responding...
Now, when I explore the same directory using the command prompt the files are displayed very quickly.
my question is:
Is there a way to setup windows explorer so it'll be faster when displaying directories with a huge number of files? Or is there another good program out there that can replace the current explorer?
Also Network browsing with explorer is easily prone to slowdowns and crashes. Linux never seems to have these problems! (apples and oranges, I know...)
Thanks!
