Windows Live Mail reply with image hangs
Hey everyone. I use windows live mail as my primary email client. When someone has an image in their signature and I reply it goes so slow it pretty much freezes the program.
Any ideas as to whats going on?

You could try restoring the default settings and see if that helps.

Could be the size of the image in the signature. On occasion we have the same issues in Lotus Notes and it drags the machine to a crawl
Does it eventually allow you to reply to the mail or does it crash WLM ?

It eventually works, but goes very slow. And when I say eventually, I mean 5-10 minutes eventually. The images aren't particularly large. I can view the emails fine, its just when I reply and they're included in the reply. Also, I think the images are pngs... but I'll have to double check on that.

Out of curiosity, do you have the same issue if you try to forward the mail rather than reply ?

Sorry it's been a while since my last reply, been extremely busy!
Anyhoo, do you have this problem as soon as you press the Reply or Forward button or is this after you've tried to send? If it's the latter, I assume you have AV software running, have you tried disabling the scanning of outgoing mail to test if this could be the issue?

Thanks for the reply still! Its right after I hid the reply/forward button.
I'm thinking it has to do with how the person is saving the images? Its only from select people where I have this problem.

Again, sorry for the late reply - feel like I'm ignoring you lol!
Anyway, what makes you think this is due to the way that they are saving the images ? Have you checked your AV scanner to see if this is dragging on the images ?

The signature images are always ones created by a specific person that I work with. OTher signature images are fine.
