Windows ME Network
Hi
I'm currently trying to set-up a 2 computer network for internet sharing. Both computers are running Win ME and have Realtek RTL8139 cards in them. I've tryed connecting them directly to each other, but that doesn't work. What am I missing? Any help is greatly appreciated. Brett |

You will need two network devices in one of the computers, one to the Internet and the other for your local network. If you have a broadband connection spend $40-$50 US and pick up an external broadband router, you'll be happier.
You need a special "crossover" cable if you want to connect two computers to each other, or better is an external switch or hub and regular cables from each computer. There is some good information on small networks at www.linksys.com |

me network
you must have a crossover cable or a router, hub, and could use a bit more info, like what is the connection, dial up ,cable ,dsl, and is it connected usb, or lan(nic) need to check your device manager, amke sure the cards are installed, no yellow! or? next to the cards. after that it would be pretty easy, ME has almost the same network wizard as xp, but need to know which connection you have, before i explain how to connect both to the net, if you have aol dial up, dont bother trying, it is not possible, but is with thier dsl, anyone who can prove me wrong please do, my email is known_criminal@msn.com, or known_criminal@yahoo.com
