What fat32 4gb limit?
fat32 supports at least 32gb, probably bigger. Some OS's like NT4 had a limit of 4gb on the installation partition, but would support other larger partitions. I've installed ME on a 30gb single partition drive with no problems. |

I did a little looking around and it does seem there is a 4gb file size limit in W9x anyway, probably in Me as well.
I didn't find any solutions other than suggestions to use a different OS. |

Doug G answered right.
The limit is not in the file system but in the file size. Just to clarify; There is a fat32 limit in volume size but it is in the terabyte range. XP and W2K artifically limit fat32 volumes to 32gig. If you create the volume using (98/ME/or utilites) larger then 32gig W2K and XP CAN address and use it. NT has a install limit of 4gig whether vfat or ntfs. NTFS limit is in the terabyte range. Fat16 is limited to 2gig. |

Maybe increasing your partition cluster size to 64k might help.
Normal limit is 32k but under certain circumstances you can use 64. Obviously this will increase the max partition size and maybe doing this might double the max filesize ?? I've never tried it so I do'nt know for sure. |
