windows xp freezes at shut down
I have windows xp professional installed in the beginning it was working fine but when I installed the pc component drivers a problem exist on the shut down or restart.
The pc freezes the at the screen windows is shutting down where I have to turn it off manually. The processor is AMD Athlon xp 2100+ , ram 256 ddr , displaying card is geforce mmx 4, M/B AK 77 / 333. anyone could help to solve this problem please Last edited by aahakim : July 13th, 2003 at 03:40 PM. |

Install the newest drivers for all your hardware and all service packs and patches for XP. This should solve the problem.

the other guy is right, it is probably a nivida driver, or a us robotics modem, they are both known causes for this problem, but if you get the latest drivers, and service packs, you should be ok, pny(nvidia) video drivers were a real pain till they patched it
