Question Windows XP Installation Problem

hi
My problem is that i reinstall WinXP after formating and partitioning my hard disk, setup copies the required files to the temporary folder then restarts. But after restart when screen shows "Setup investigating your computer's hardware configuration" my computer not responding (about 15 min.) or setup does not go forward.
I restart my computer but nothing happens.
I read some online tips i.e. hardware compatibility, disable some hardwares but no success.
REMEMBER I had installed WinXP on my (same) computer with same hardwares and with same CD several times before.

Please some one help me to resolve this unusaul problem.

Noman

Try starting off the CD when you boot the computer, sometimes this gives better performance and it's less likely to crash.

maybe something got interrupted in the installation, try reformatting and repartitioning again.

That's the stupidest response I've ever heard. Obviously you'd want to try again if something doesn't work the first time. Do you mind adding something productive to this discussion board?

CD is working properly because it gave no error during copying of files for setup to temporary folder on hard disk. But after copying & restart computer hangs showing "setup is inspecting ur hardware configuraion".

Did you install any new hardware since the last time when you were able to install successfully?

try flat installing winxp
copy the i386 to the harddrive and run winnt from there
remove any other hardware, modem, nic, sound, etc. plus peripherals and install. sometimes its possible that its read errors with the drive. flat install can tell you this

I had already tried those steps.
Copy the I386 to harddisk then try to install from there.
Remove or disable almost all hardwares except motherboard, ram & display (graphics) card.
Change the display (graphics) card.
But the problem is the same.
