hi
My problem is that i reinstall WinXP after formating and partitioning my hard disk, setup copies the required files to the temporary folder then restarts. But after restart when screen shows "Setup investigating your computer's hardware configuration" my computer not responding (about 15 min.) or setup does not go forward. I restart my computer but nothing happens. I read some online tips i.e. hardware compatibility, disable some hardwares but no success. REMEMBER I had installed WinXP on my (same) computer with same hardwares and with same CD several times before. Please some one help me to resolve this unusaul problem. Noman |

Try starting off the CD when you boot the computer, sometimes this gives better performance and it's less likely to crash.

CD is working properly because it gave no error during copying of files for setup to temporary folder on hard disk. But after copying & restart computer hangs showing "setup is inspecting ur hardware configuraion".

Did you install any new hardware since the last time when you were able to install successfully?

I had already tried those steps.
Copy the I386 to harddisk then try to install from there. Remove or disable almost all hardwares except motherboard, ram & display (graphics) card. Change the display (graphics) card. But the problem is the same. |
