Windows XP Pro connecting to Windows NT 4.0 Server
Help please.
I have a network that is running Windows NT server 4.0 service pack 6. I just hooked up a new computer running Windows XP Pro. It can not find the domain. I have DHCP running on the NT server. Thank you, |

Did you run the Network ID wizard on the XP box?

Yes I ran that. It was set up to connect to a workgroup first. I wasn't sure of the Domain name when I install XP Pro. What it keeps coming up with is something about DNS names and the Active Directory Service. Well NT doesn't have Active Directory like Windows 2000 Server. And I am not running DNS on the server. It is a small network and didn't see the need for it.

Same Problem
Did you ever find a solution to this issue? I am setting up a small network with a copule 98 users and a couple XP users on a Windows NT 4.0 server. The 98 systems seem to log into the domain correctly, but I can't get the XP systems to see it. I would appreciate any help you might have!!

Yes I did. I printed out some steps to do it. Was simple once I did that. I will look for them at home and let you know. You can e-mail me at URL.
Have a great day |
