Ive just started at a new firm and on one PC I've installed Win XP
on a new hard disc - the old hard disc had Win XP with Service Pack 1 installed on it, but I (and no-one else) can find a disc with the update on it. The copy of Win XP is 100% legitimate, incidently. I have a personal disc (i.e. not strictly aquired from reputable sources...) which has the SP1 update on it, but what I want to know is, is it safe to install on it on my work PC without suffering some form of "Windows Activation" blues?? Cheers Last edited by james73 : August 22nd, 2003 at 06:21 PM. |

if it is a legal copy as you say, just go to start, all programs, windows updates, scan for updates, it will be offered to you as a critical update. and if a legal key was entered at the time of install, and was properly activated, will have no trouble what-so-ever, but if you have a unactivated copy or a downloaded/borrowed copy might want to consider paying for it. crack downs on software and other copy protected material should make it's cost a real bargain.
