XP: Remote Desktop through webclient?
On my win2k server, I have terminal services running and from any internet explorer enabled computer, I can login to that server.
Does remote desktop work in the same way, or do you need to be on another computer with the remote desktop client, and not just internet explorer, to connect? If you can connect from any IE, what do you do to do so, enter the IP? Thanks. |

Hiya
We run terminal services in the company I work for (about a year now) and I have never heard of being able to access you remote desktop via ie, infact with the money M$ are making from Client Access Lisences, I very much doubt that it is possible at all. IE is probably necessary more as a dependancy. You make your Terminal services client access program from within your server (think it's under Terminal Services Manager, not 100% sure, haven't made one for some months now) and you should have 5 CALS with your server. |

I am just wondering for my PC. For my server, however, it is already possible. I installed terminal services in my IIS, under /tsweb/ and when I go to that page from any computer equiped with IE, it will prompt to install a component, and then when I hit connect it will visusally access the server.

Check TightVNC which has an option to access your desktop remotely through a webclient
