Is it possible to run SQL Server 7.0 on Windows XP Professional?
It won't work for me.

As long as you use the desktop version, yes. The full server version of SQL 7 requires a server OS, not a workstation OS like XP. You probably need XP Pro not XP Home.
I use the desktop version of SQL 7 (found on the retail SQL 7 CD) on my XP Pro box without any problems. |

I've had SQL 7 on this box for a long time, I think before XP SP1. It's been long enough that I don't recall the installation details, sorry. It seems to me I just put my SQL Server CD in and followed the instructions though.
