there is no chmod in windows.

If you have a ntfs file system (and no XP Home), you can right-click on folders, "properties", "security" to change ownership and permissions.

    chmod / Apache

I am trying to figure out how to set chmod on files in my www folder. I am completely new to Apache and I donít seem to be able to find anything in the documentation. I am running Apache on a windows machine as a service. What I have found on the subject was on this message board and is basically this:

if you want to chmod /home/me/uploads, then type:

    cd /home/me

    Then type:

chmod 777 uploads (where "uploads" is the name of your directory.

You can also just skip a step and type:

    chmod 777 /home/me/uploads

Of course Iím substituting my directory names but I just get that it isnít a recognized command.

Is there a command shell for Apache that I need to access first and if so how do I do that?

The above instructions are for *nix systems running Apache. As has already been stated, there is no chmod on Windows.

maybe it is time to make a plugin to emulate the chmod for WAMP. How do you feel about that?
