    Search Hard Drive for Text?

Is there a way that I can search some files on my PC for certain strings of text?

For example, say I have about 40 files (.php and .txt) and I need to find something called 'my favorite color'. Is there a way I can search the for this then tell me which file it is in? I recall seeing something that would do this a while back but I can't remember what it was.

    Thanks,

    Jeff

    1. Click Start -- > Search --> For Files or Folders

    2. Enter the filenames separated by ; as in
    *.php; *.txt

    3. Enter the text you want to find.

If you'd installed a compiler like C++ Builder, Delphi or the Borland C++ family, then you can also use grep from the command line .
