Can't Open XSD File in IE 6 with Service Pack 2
I just installed Windows XP Service Pack 2 and now I can't open any of my .XSD files in the IE browser. I've checked my file types under Internet Tools, and IE is listed as the program to open .xsd files. But when I double-click on it, the title bar flashes and nothing happens.
I don't even get a title bar flash when I open a browser window and use File|Open to browse to the xsd file and open it that way. Just nothing happens. The files are well-formed b/c I can run them through my validator- I just can't view them in IE. Any suggestions? |

Have you tried them in another browser?
What happens if you try removing portions of the xsd, will it show up?

I think service pack 2 is giving the problems.. a friend of mine had to reformat her notebook after installing service pack 2..

I would not suggest reformating at this point...I have not had any problems with sp2.

I would not suggest reformatting either. This is not a "malfunction" of SP2. It is simply an annoying feature that has been implemented for security reasons. That does not mean that I agree with it. I figure there should at least be an easy way to disable it, but there probably isn't. Using another browser should be fine. I suggest Mozilla Firefox http://www.mozilla.org. Even if you hate SP2 enough to remove it from your PC, you don't have to reformat. You can simply use System Restore to put your PC in a pre SP2 state.
