Help: Can't convert my image

I have the following that won't convert:

<description><![CDATA[<img src="http://www.example.com/image1.jpg" /> This is a news item]]></description>


In my output I'm getting:

<img src="http://www.example.com/image1.jpg" />

instead of it rendering the actual image.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Depends how you're creating the output.

Looks like you're just copying the node, in which case why use a CDATA section if you don't want it?
