Help with XML and Java shopping cart example
Im very new to XML and so need your help. I have tried to get this example of a XML/Java shopping cart to work, but have so far been unsuccessful (see link below)
URL I have downloaded and read the PDF file, and downloaded the zipped web application archive. etc Im not sure if the problem is being caused by the fact that im using Java SDK 1.4.1 and Tomcat 4 as the server, as in the example it says use JDK 1.2 or 1.3 and Tomcat 3.1 on page 36 of the PDF file. Also i have not tampered with the enviroment variables as i have been told that it is not necessary on newer versions of Tomcat and Java to change paths and enviroment variables. Is this correct? Please please please can someone try the example and let me know if they got it working. |

Changed your thread title... "1,000,000 dollars to anyone who can help me :-)" is not a valid thread name.

That example is fairly old now (almost 4 years old). There are better example frameworks for Java shopping carts available such as the Java Pet Store.
I think I have even come across someone who has implemented the pet store as a full MVC based application. Or if you are looking for some other alternatives to start from, our company has a Java shopping cart database schema, Java API, and class diagram available for free. |
