Http 500 error while opening xml page

Hi,

On one of my client's server, whenever I try to open any xml file it gives http 500 error. They have configured new server and I don't know why the xml pages are giving this error.

I also tried to open some tutorial files of w3schools but still it gives the same error.

I am not familier with xml and dont know what's wrong here.

The configuration is:

Apache 2.2.3
PHP 5.1.6

can someone guide me for the same. It would be much appreciated.

It's very unlikely that a 500 error is anything to do with your xml as such, it's more likely to be something to do with the url of the xml file and/or an associated xslt file.

You really need to check your apache logs to get the full details of why it's complaining.

Hi there,

Thanks for reply. I just checked server error log and there is nothing mention about such file. however in access log I can see this:

Quote:
xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx - - [24/Apr/2008:09:31:43 +0100] "GET /sitemap.xml HTTP/1.1" 500 626 "-" "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-GB; rv:1.8.1.14) Gecko/20080404 Firefox/2.0.0.14"

I don't know what's going on here. How can I check xslt file? where can I find it?

your help much appreciated.

take care.

The URL of xml fine is fine. I can open any other pages except xml pages. I have uploaded 2-3 test xml pages as well and all gives the same error.
