Linking XML Caption to Text Input Field

I am designing an online store page for my photography.

I'm using a prebuilt application called Simpleviewer, which uses flash with an XML page to produce a gallery of images. What I am trying to accomplish is linking the "Image Number" next to the picture, which is found in a caption in the XML file, to the "Image Number" input field.

As it stands, you must manually type the Image Number into the field, which could lead to errors or confusion, and I would like to simplify this.

Is there any way for me to grab the currently displayed Caption from the XML file and display it the Image Number field so the user doesn't have to do it themselves? I'm not that familiar with XML and I don't know much about its functionality.

Is there another solution that someone could recommend if they can think of one?
