Parsing an XML using XSL

I have a standalone XML source with no DTD at all. Additionaly I have an XSL stylesheet. I need to parse the XML source using the XSL stylesheet on Linux box. The process MUST be as fast as lightning. MUST support full DOM (not SAX), fully fully compatible with XSL 1.1 .
I intend to use the parsing for web publishing. That is why the full DOM compatibility and the ultra speed processing come on the scene.

I know about a few resources:
xmllint
Xerxes-Perl

Any clues? How do I do it?
P.S. Have a basic XML overview, however need to prepare a process engine.
Thank you.

Since you are Linux-based, have a look at libxml and
libxslt. (www.libxml.org, www.libxslt.org).

Guess you are searching for sort of a tutorial, but I don't programm in XML. I just need an excellent parsing tool that is 100% compatible with DOM! No SAX.
If your question wasn't ment to me, just ignore it.
