What is this character, square shape, parser disharmony

Trying to parse an xml file, I did a view source. Getting these along with spaces between the field names (see txt file)

My parser won't parse the file. And I'm on the verge of scrapping it, which was paid for. It seems whenever I go to use it, the developer must change out the code.

Could this have anything to do with the always_populate_raw_post_data being turned off (does this relate to fopen of only POST)?

Back to looking at Magpie or SimplePie, though I see SimplePie is no longer being developed. Any suggestions? I need something that actually works.

That's a 0x0A, also known as a \n, also known as a line feed, also known as a newline character (as used in *nix and Windows).
