    xls:variable Question

    I'm trying to set up a JNLP XML file and want to use a variable. However, none of the examples I found show a complete simple use. When I try to create the variable (global) I keep getting an unbound error which implies the variable I want to create needs to go somewhere else. This is the simple code I have:
    Code:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <!-- JNLP file for KCBSEvents Mobile App -->
    <xls:variable name="myurl">http://myhost.mydomain.com/KCBSEvents</xls:variable>
    <jnlp
            spec="6.0+"
            codebase="{$myurl}/mobile"
            href="KCBSEvents.jnlp"
    />
       .
       .
       .
    Can someone tell me why this is not right. TIA

    <xsl:variable> is only for XSLT stylesheets, which a JNLP file is not. To use XSLT you'd have to write the source XML, some XSLT transformation stuff, run those two through an XSLT processor, and dump the output as your "JNLP file".

    Why do you need to use a "variable"?

    To make some things easier. I guess I will abandon that idea and hard code everything multiple times. Thanks.

    That path will probably never change, right? A variable would be nice but it's not like it would save you much time anyways.

    Of course, as we all know, paths never change. I was hoping to not have to search out everyone if it does.
