Send a message via AIM to Teflon
what version of excel?

I just clicked opened an xml file into excel and it did a fairly decent job of doing it.

I opened it just like a normal excel file.
w/o providing excel with my stylesheet.

edit: I just opened it up with applying my stylesheet and it did a fairly good job as well.

XML to Excel

Yes I can second that!

I have opened up an XML file into Excel just by using the instructions in excel for opening an XML file. Excel also has good features for converting .xls files to XML files.

Your problem could be that the XML file is not valid / strict XML and in that case it is not recognised. XML is a very strict standard. Get it validated - or upload it in text form here and I can check it for you.
It is also possible to write a program that picks out the data in the XML file and converts it to a tab or comma deliminated file - using PHP. This may work with your version of excel (if it is an old version.)

Hope you have some luck!

XML to Excel snap in

Try this snap-in: http://www.forgram.com/

It works great.. Demo version does not convert 100 of your lines, but you can test it.
